Materials needed:
Square origami paper (red or green for a traditional look)
Instructions:
1. Start with the square paper:
Place the paper colored side down if it has one.
Fold the paper in half diagonally, both ways, to create two creases. This will help you find the center.
2. Create a preliminary base:
With the colored side up, fold the paper in half horizontally and vertically. This will give you creases that mark the center of the paper.
3. Form the waterbomb base:
Turn the paper so that it looks like a diamond.
Fold the top point down to the center, creating a triangle.
Repeat with the bottom point, folding it up to meet the top point. This will form a smaller diamond.
4. Make the preliminary folds:
Fold the right and left edges of the diamond to the center crease.
5. Form the petal base:
Flip the paper over.
Also, do not forget to fold the right and left edges to the center crease again.
6. Create the inner petals:
Open the top layer of the right and left flaps.
Fold the right and left edges towards the center, aligning with the center crease. This will form two smaller triangles.
7. Form the outer petals:
Fold the top flap down along the bottom edge of the triangles created in the previous step.

8. Finalize the rose:
